Chamonix
The Chamonix Valley is composed of 5 major skiing areas. Depending on your level, the snow, weather conditions and sun orientation, Ski-Factory will always direct you to the best areas to suit your progression and the time of day.
Argentiere / Les Grands Montets
Les Grands Montets is the most popular area in the Chamonix Valley. This is the place where freeriders from all over the globe meet. It is the largest and the most challenging area in the Chamonix Valley. Perfect for good intermediate and expert skiers.
Unlimited ski pass holders have access to the top Grands Montets cable car.
It is also a great sight-seeing destination for non skiers offering a fantastic panorama.
It is also possible for Chamonix le pass holders to purchase supplementary tickets for the Grands Montets cable car.
Brevent
There is a good variety of pistes and some good off piste runs. At the bottom of the Brevent area and right in the center of Chamonix there is the Savoy beginners area which is an ideal place to start for Children and adults alike. Further up, at the top of the Brevent cable car is a great area with wide blues to practice turns. Higher than this there are more challenging reds and off piste areas for the more experienced skiers.
Brevent is linked to the Flegere skiing area by a cable car and intermediate skiers can ski there without any problems.
Flegere
Chamonix's sunniest ski area with a fantastic panoramic view of the Mont Blanc Massif, this area is perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers with some nice challenging parts. Flégère also has a nice little area for beginners with two great rolling and long green slopes to practice turning.
Flégère is linked to the Brévent skiing area, where you’ll find a more efficient lift to get back down to Chamonix.
Les Houches
Les Houches is well known for The Kandahar; the famous downhill world cup run used every winter in February.
Beautiful tree-lined runs and gentle slopes are perfect for all levels. There is a great area for children on the Prarion gondola, with nice wide runs. Les Houches also boasts some of the most stunning views of Mont Blanc, and the best on piste restaurants in the valley.
Les Houches is included in the Mont Blanc Unlimited pass but not Chamonix le pass.
This area is perfect in poor visibility or in bad weather conditions; the tree line will enhance the visibility and definitely help you with your skiing. The weather will also be better because it is lower in altitude.
BALME / LE TOUR
Ski-Factory will often take you here if you are a beginner or intermediate skier. With its wide open pistes, usually excellent snow conditions and numerous blue and easy reds it is perfect for learning. This area connects to Vallorcine. Vallorcine has lovely tree-lined runs and if you ski down the home run, you will find a beautiful picturesque village.
Ski-Factory love to bring our beginners to La Vormaine, a ski area located at the bottom of Le Tour/Balme gondola. This area has a local, affordable pass where beginners can pay per hour.
